Foundation Doctors-Medical Students
Foundation Doctors interested in a career in neurosurgery may wish to take part in a "taster week" . They can do this by contacting the Neurosurgical Department of their local Neurosurgical unit.
You may also wish join a National or local Neurosurgery Student Interest Group. Many Medical Schools and Universities have such groups, or you could join the National Group NANSIG which is affiliated to the SBNS.

The Neurology and Neurosurgery Student Interest Group (NANSIG) is a UK based organisation for medical students and junior doctors.
NANSIG is the first society of its kind in the UK and aims to provide members with an opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding in the fields of Neurology and Neurosurgery.
This prestigious society could be the perfect platform to kick start your medical career, as the work alongside universities and other institutions to provide up to date careers and admissions information.
NANSIG is also affiliated with the SBNS and jointly host an annual Career day for budding Neurosurgeons and regularly hold workshops at the SBNS bi annual meetings.They also examine and evaluate the most current research in the field of Neuroscience, enabling their members to critically consider new scientific theories and innovative therapies.
